Festival4Stars memories
Sadly, the competition as we knew it ended in 2012 and continues to be surrounded by controversy.
We first got involved with Festival4Stars in 2006 (as Linzi Doherty School of Dancing/Born to Entertain) and reached regional and national finals over the years. In 2012 we formed a new musical theatre group – RazzleStars – and won the regional finals with three of our acts.
The original organiser, and former founding director, Judy Brunton, resigned as Operations Manager during the summer of 2012 and unfortunately from then on the organisation took a different direction.
Now operating as Festival For Stars Talent Search UK, the company has received some fierce criticism for the way the finals were run and more importantly for not producing the promised prizes. Parents, teachers and competitors formed pages on Facebook to discuss their concerns and to try and resolve the issues –
The Unrewarded and Dance Solutions.
Our dancers, singers and their families have had some great times over the six years we took part heats and finals – even through the tears and tantrums, highs and lows – and we’re proud of all these achievements despite the demise of the competition.
